Here Comes the Heat

Today might be the last day for a good, lunchtime walk for a few days as the weather forecasts all show heat warnings coming.  It sucks as I’ve been doing really well this first week in, getting back into the swing of things.  I see two options on the horizon (well, three if you count sweating my ass off by trying to take a walk at lunchtime) and those are basically wake up early and take my walk first thing in the morning, and hey, get the dog a good walk as well, or I can get my ass back on the exercise bike.

The problem with option A, going for the morning walk, is that I really like my morning schedule of waking (obviously), making breakfast and lunch for my wife before she goes off to work, and then perusing my morning batch of information via the morning news and internet searching, and a quick collection of goodies on the Zynga game Empires and Allies doesn’t hurt, either.  Then it’s time to shower and I’m off to the day job.  I’ve really grown comfortable with this “waking-up” schedule, and every time I try to exercise in the morning, somewhere around day 20 it all falls apart.

The problem with option B is that it involves riding my exercise back when I get back from work, and I really don’t like to exercise when I get home from a long day.  I just like to chill, maybe take the dog for a walk, and then get to some iPhone programming or reviewing for my other fun jobs.

One of them is going to have to become the norm for a few days, it will be interesting to see which one wins out, but all I know is I can’t stop now, nor can I let a little heat get in the way.
