I Should Have Bought 52 Boxes of Count Chocula

I went to Meijer and my fear came true: No More Count Chocula.  I’ve blogged about eating Count Chocula for breakfast before, about how its nutritional analysis was pretty much the same as Honey Nut Cheerios, and how I’m not a fan of the Chocolate Cheerios, and I was worried that the Count was only going to be around for Halloween, and my fears were realized when I went to the local Meijer, the only place around me that seemed to still carry the choc, but it was nowhere to be found.  No empty space on the shelf, no free-standing display, just a billion different choices of Cheerios and a frown.

So there I was, standing in the cereal isle, analyzing the various labels, and somehow I ended up with a box of Post Raisin Bran and a box of Mini Wheats.  I got the Mini Wheats because they were the lowest in sodium, although they did have high fructose corn syrup (come on Mini Wheat people, get rid of it!), and I just like Raisin Bran.

So I’m off of the Count Chocula for a while (I knew I should have bought 52 boxes when I had the chance), and now when someone asks me what I’m having for breakfast it will at least sound healthy.  In my heart, though, I’ll know that the Count Chocula was about the same, and gave me chocolate milk in the morning, too.  Oh well,
