How To Lose 1.2 Pounds in One Minute

I have to say that I was curious when I was constantly seeing the previews for Ray Romano’s new TV show, “Men of a Certain Age,” namely the clip where Ray’s character brags about how he once lost 2 1/2 pounds after going pee.  So, yes, this morning I woke up around 3AM with a little bit of an urge to go, but said “Self, hmm, let’s go back to bed and try to remember to weigh yourself before you go to the bathroom when you wake up.”

So I did.

Yup, I went back to sleep.  Check. Then I woke up at my normal time. Check. So I went into the bathroom and got on the scale (it’s a digital one).  Check.  Then I went over to the toilet and urinated. Check. Then I got back on the scale. Check. Then I did the subtraction in my head and low and behold, in about the minute it took me to drain my main vein, well, I lost 1.2 pounds!

I don’t know why this really surprised me that much, I mean, one gallon of water weighs around 8.35 pounds, so in doing the math, one gallon of water is 128 ounces of liquid, and with that, 1.2 pounds is about 18.4 ounces of pee, give or take a little for density adjustments of urine, and putting that into terms you can process, about a can and a half of soda pop. That might seem like a lot, but I’ll bet there have been times for you when you just kept going, and going, and going, and I’ll bet you felt lighter after you were done!

Now I’m not saying that trying to pee a lot will be a good weight loss plan, but go ahead, the next time your bladder feels like it might burst, step on your scale first, then pee, then step back on the scale and pat yourself on the back for how much weight you lost! And…

This is my weight loss plan… Get your own!
