Hershey's Kisses - Can I Pull That Trigger?

Hershey's Kisses

8 or 9 of these make a serving.

If you are a reader of mine you know about the Count Chocula part of my diet, but it was today at the store that I thought of adding Hershey’s Kisses, you know, those little pieces of chocolate in the silver foil, to my diet.  There I was, looking at the package, and did you know that the serving size for a Hershey Kiss is not one kiss?  Nope, according to the package you are allowed 8 or 9 of those little suckers.  Sure, 8 or 9 of them total about 220 calories, and sure, there’s all of the other stuff they have, but I have to say that I don’t think, as an adult, that I’ve ever eaten 8 or 9 of them in one sitting.  So I was thinking to myself, “Self, if a serving is 8 or 9, and 8 or 9 have about 220 calories, that means that each one of those delectable, foil-wrapped bundles of joy only has about 25 calories. What a delightful, little snack in the middle of the day that those kisses might make!”

But then I realized that my obsessive, compulsiveness would destroy this diet plan.

You see, I know me, and I know that having a bag full of kisses would mean that a little snack of one or two kisses would turn into a chocolate fest of, well, the entire bag.  I would end up sick, my fiance would make fun of me, and one of my future posts would be titled something like “I Can’t Believe I Ate The Entire Bag.”  But I am getting better about my eating, at least in these last couple of weeks, and wouldn’t it be fun to say that part of my weight loss plan is eating Hershey’s Kisses?  Maybe I’ll have to ponder this one a little more, and sorry Hershey’s, but if I do try to add a little chocolate burst of goodness to my day, I might try these fruit chocolate things from Trader Joe’s.  More on this addition to my weight loss plan to come, because…
