Sometimes I Like Wal-Mart

I didn’t have a great day on Friday when it came to achieving my “being active” goal, and I’ll admit it, but as much as I don’t like going to Wal-Mart with my fiance, other than the fact of spending time with my fiance, I took it as an opportunity to make up for my lack of movement, and I did so by finding a new way to add some extra exercise – I walked the aisles.

What do I mean by this?  Well, while at Walmart my fiance likes to dispatch me to different areas of the store to pick up things that aren’t on her direct list, so while she’ll be in the grocery side, she’ll send me over to the arts and crafts side to pick up some posterboard.  Last year the normal plan of attack for this was to find the shortest distance there, but not in 2010.  Nope, for this year it’s about moving more, and moving more means not taking that straight line to the posterboard.  Nope, I zigged, I zagged, and I’m sure she was wondering what was taking so long, but a bit later there I was, meeting back with her with some posterboard.  And low and behold, she didn’t want the extra posterboard I brought, she told me that we could just give it to the cashier, but I said “No! I’ll take it back!” So my zigzaggy self made my way through the aisles, dodged an old lady in a scooter, and all of my little steps helped because on Saturday I hit…

144% of my daily goal!

Funny, I found that Walmart could be for more than low prices because…
